Goodbye, PCB!

Robbie's Revisited!  This one is for Deanna, Hollie and Lindsey!  Sorry, you couldn't be there with us.  Katie, Carson and I spent some time at the Pottery Bar in PCB before leaving after our great time this summer.  This was our 'grand finale'....a real treat for K & C.  They are just like their Mom and their Aunt Hollie with their love for doing ceramics!
PCB....we'll miss you....but, not for long!  Next stop....Home Sweet Home!

Hollie's Trip to the ER!

Okay....I was going to be a nice mother and not say anything about Hollie's night in the emergency room, but when I read about it on her blog, I couldn't resist letting everyone in on the picture I took while she was there!  Addie spent Friday night in the ER with her broken shoulder and Hollie spent Saturday night in the ER with her??????!  They are two of a kind!   The need for sympathy just RUNS in the family? Or does it?  (By the way, she is fine, now!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATIE! Happy Shopping Day, Addie!

Happy Birthday Katie!  10 years old TODAY!!!  Mimommy and Papa love you with all our hearts!  You are a dear, precious grandchild!
Addie certainly knows how to 'milk' her injury when it comes to her favorite pastime of shopping!  She told her Papa that she couldn't go outside now and play with her friends, so she needed to go buy some clothes and shoes!!  You see where she is!

Time to leave....again!

Another cloudy day.  We are leaving just in time to beat the arrival of the storm which could be the first tropical depression for SC/NC.  We're headed for Rougemont, NC (near Raleigh) for another race.  The 98 was fixable from the last race when it was wrecked and is ready to go.  This is a championship race with the North and South divisions of PASS (ProAllStarSeries) so we are hoping for a good run with at least a top 10 finish.  I'll update you later on the results.  Next stop Raleigh, NC................GO 98!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. First, we have to go to the airport to pick up the newlyweds!  You know they would not miss a race, even for a honeymoon!

Happy Birthday, Husband!

Happy Birfday to the best husband, father, grandfather, Christian man and President in the entire world. We had a great time today celebrating his birthday on the beach with family and friends.  The Dorners are here with us at Myrtle Beach in this great beach house we rented for the week and Dan cooked a great dinner for us all.  We had a wonderful day.

Rainy Beach Day!

It is always nice to be at the beach even if it rains especially when family is there with you!  We had to make it a short beach day and head to Broadway at the Beach and Johnny Rocket's !  You can't complain about that.  My brother, Greg, is able to join us with his family (wife, Julie and children, Blaise, Dalton and Maranda) at the beach for the week and I am enjoying getting to spend some time with them.  Dalton and Hope are my two "special" little ones and Dalton likes me almost as much as Hope does!  He finally had to call it a day and give it up right in the restaurant even with all the music and dancing going on!  Blaise and Hope hit the Disney store with all they had and managed to 'bond' over Toy Story characters!  Maybe the sun will shine outside tomorrow, if it doesn't it will be shinning in the hearts of our happy family!

The Best Donut in the World!

I was born on a bingo table in Carolina Beach, NC and can remember finally getting old enough that my mom would let me leave the Bingo and go get a donut all by myself at Britts Donuts on the Boardwalk of Carolina Beach!  They have been there since 1939....way before I was born!  Recently there was an article in the newspaper that they had been voted the 2nd best donut in the world!  (It could have been the 2nd best in the US, I can't remember, but probably the world!) These folks are also some of the friendliest and kindest people in the world as well. Believe it or not, they only make one kind of donut, glazed, and you have to eat it hot and you have to eat it there.  I say eat it, like you only eat one, but that is impossible....you can't only eat one.  You have to eat them until you get sick!  For some people it's two for some people it's five or six!
Johnny preached at Northside Bapt. on Sunday morning so on Saturday night he knew he would need some extra energy to preach their three services since he is used to only preaching two so we went to Britt's after the wedding reception (about 20 of us) and he ate 5 donuts to make it through Sunday and of course, they worked just fine!  He didn't come down from his sugar high until Sunday afternoon!  This is how good they are.....You'll notice in the pictures that Lindsey and Taylor were supposed to have left for their honeymoon after the sendoff at the reception, but who showed up....the bride and groom!  They couldn't leave town without their Britt's donut!  OR was it that they couldn't leave because they knew they were missing something???? You know them so you decide!  After all, they'll be back on Friday night from their honeymoon in Grand Cayman because we have a race this weekend in NC!  Next stop....Myrtle Beach!

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Dorner

I can't believe the day has finally come and gone! Lindsey and Taylor Dorner!  It was a simply beautiful wedding and I believe they both fully enjoyed every minute of the festivities!  The rehearsal dinner was fabulous and the wedding beautiful and sweet with all the kids in it...there were 8 children in it believe it or not!  The rehearsal was pretty loud and crazy but of course they were great for the ceremony....well, almost great...only Maranda wouldn't go down the aisle, but that's okay, she is only 16 months old!  And Dalton was having a fit right before going down the aisle because he wanted to carry his Bible, so of course, he carried his Bible and was so very cute standing there with it!  When I figure out how to do it, I'll post the Web album address so you can see more snapshots I took during the day and evening of the wedding!

"Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married...."  Today at 4:00pm!!!  Soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Dorner. (By the way, this is NOT Hollie.....it is my niece, Lindsey!)  The weather is beautiful, wish you were here!

Beach Fun, Until.....

We are having a great time at the beach enjoying all we can get out of it!  Our sweet friends from Panama City Beach have this great boat and took all of us out for the day Sunday after church.  We had so much fun until Jake tried to kill me and Katie on the jet ski!  You can see us doing our best to get off that thing as quickly as we could before he went 'jetting' off again!  Katie and I were doing just fine by ourselves until Jake decided we were not getting the most out of the machine!  He said we looked like we were driving the "motorized wheelchair in Walmart!"  I want to know what was wrong with that?  We were having fun!  Then he had to spoil it all by driving us 60 mph!  I didn't have to scream because Katie was doing enough for both of us!  DON'T RIDE WITH JAKE!
I had the annual BEACH PARTY with the kids on July 5th.  This is a special time with Katie and Carson and their condo neighbor's grandchildren, Emma and Olivia, their beach playmates.  We play games, dance, have goodies like cotton candy and of course a hula hoop contest.  Nobody can beat Carson!  He is the greatest hula hooper around!  Now it is time to get ready for the next stop....Wilmington, NC and the wedding!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July from George and Laura and Johnny and Janet!  God Bless America!

Fireworks of all types!

Wow!  What a race!  We knew going to Greenville was going to be good....we were the fastest qualifier and led the race for around 95 of the 125 lap feature then the fireworks began!  Into the wall!!  With help of course!  This great looking car doesn't look quite the same right now!  Justin drove a fantastic race and ended up extremely disappointed knowing what a great car we had.  We knew we could possibly win at Greenville (that was the track of our last win) Ended up with an 11th place finish.  Next race...Rougemont, NC.  The entire family was able to go so I guess this was our July Family Night.  However, we would have loved to have had our family picture taken in Winner's Circle...but there is always another race at Greenville- Pickens which is still our all time favorite track.  We will be back!

RACE DAY!

Finally!  Today is race day and I am sooooooooooo excited!  Nothing cures ailments like RACE DAY!!!  Greenville here we come!  (My new race buddy, Derema Davis is going with us and we are elated to be going racing together tonight.  Also, it is a rare treat that my wonderful husband gets to come along too.  He also loves it but rarely gets the chance to come since the races are usually on Saturday night.)  I'l report tomorrow after we finish celebrating the FOURTH OF JULY!  We will be in Panama City Beach and the fireworks celebration there on the beach is 'off the hook' as my cool children would say!

Stay safe and have a happy 4th of July.
